June 9th & 10th - Pride Fest
Capital City Pride is proud to celebrate its 40th anniversary on June 9-10, 2018 with what is sure to be the biggest and best Pride Fest Des Moines has ever seen! June 15th - 25th - Des Moines Beer Week
Established in 2014, Des Moines Beer Week is an annual event that aims to celebrate the Des Moines area’s growing craft beer scene. Participating businesses create, plan & host fun & unique events during Des Moines Beer Week for the community to enjoy. The craft beer industry is impacting our local economy in a positive way by adding to the city’s culture, encouraging tourism & creating jobs. Let’s celebrate & support the breweries, bars, restaurants, local organizations & businesses that help make the Des Moines metro one of the top cities in the nation!
Daily events include activities like organized bike rides, tap takeovers, special tappings, movies, education, meeting brewers, dinners, specials & more! The week also includes the Iowa Craft Brew Festival, where around 60 Iowa breweries, along with a host of regional & national craft breweries, gather in Des Moines to offer beer samples to patrons. ArtFest Midwest 2018, Iowa’s largest fine art show, is an indoor event (with a few outdoor spaces) held in the rain-free, air-conditioned Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Approximately 250 artists will be participating in this 16th annual event, held on the same weekend as the downtown arts event. ArtFest Midwest, an affordable alternative to the downtown show, will again offer free shuttle bus service to & from downtown. Parking/admission to the show are free to the public.

June 27th - Zoo Brew
For those 21 and older, the Zoo comes alive every Wednesday in June, July & August. Enjoy a brew (or two), listen to live music and experience the wonders of the animal kingdom! When you attend Zoo Brew, you are supporting programs and conservation efforts to help save animals in the wild. Every dollar raised at Zoo Brew continues to advance the Zoo’s Mission.
Must be 21 to enter. No children allowed. Must present ID at door. Animals must go to bed 30 minutes before sunset. Rain or shine, there’s beer and wine!
