Traveling by car is an experience unlike any other, but sometimes flying is necessary for certain trips, especially business trips. Flying presents its own list of challenges, as well as its own list of benefits. Trying to make it through the challenges can be difficult, unless you know the secret to making it through the airport hassle and headache free. There are a few flying tips that even the professionals and frequent fliers swear by and you should too. Check out a few of these and hopefully they come in handy on your next family vacation or business trip.

Pack smart
Whether you’re on a business trip or a family vacation, how you pack is crucial to your flying success. When packing your clothes, roll them instead of folding and stacking. They will take up less room and will help you conserve space. Wear your bulkiest shoes to the airport and pack your shoes that are the thinnest and will lie flat, like flip flops. This will save you a ton of space in your suitcase. Use travel size toiletries, as this will save you a lot of space as well. You definitely won’t need your entire bottle of shampoo on your four day vacation, we promise.

Charge Up
Chances are when you’re traveling, you’ll be using your phone a lot for communication, as well as entertainment. So whenever you get the chance, find an outlet and charge up, even if you only have five minutes. Those five minutes can mean the difference between being able to call a cab when you arrive and having to walk the next five blocks to your hotel because your phone is dead. If you’re going on a long trip and are worried about running out of battery while flying or on vacation, get a travel charger that can be used to charge your phone when not plugged in.

Keep Moving
The worst thing you could do while flying is to hold everyone else up in line. When you go through the security checkpoint, grab your things off the conveyor belt and move to another place to put your shoes on. Don’t try and put your stuff away while standing there in line. This will cause backups and headaches. When you’re getting ready to board the plane, figure out what you’re going to want on the plane and either pull them out of your bag, or have them ready so when you get to your seat you can quickly store your bag in the storage bins rather than standing there digging in your bag while people try and get to their seats.

Flying can be a breeze, or it can cause numerous headaches. Follow these simple tips to ensure that you fly easily and headache free with the best of them.
