Nestled in the heart of the Court District downtown, the Court Avenue Brewing Company is Des Moines original brewery, located in the historic Saddlery Building and is known for their award-winning beers, including the Pointer Brown Ale, Two Rivers Light, and BlackHawk Stout. They feature a full menu for your dining pleasure, as well.
Exile Brewing Company

Exile Brewing Company draws its inspiration from the many immigrants who have made America what it is today. With a hint of European style right here in the heart of Des Moines, Exile Brewing Company’s four main beers, Hannah Bavarian Wheat, Beatnick Sour Berliner-style Weisse, Ruthie Gold Lager, and Gigi Dark Lager, are bottled and distributed throughout the area. They also feature a large line of seasonal beers. Brewery tours are available every Saturday from 3:15-4:00 p.m.
Madhouse Brewing Company

The Madhouse Brewing Company is located just blocks from Downtown Des Moines and specializes in barrel-aged and sour ales. Their flagship beers include their Honey Pilsner, Hopburst IPA, Pastime Ale, Oak-Aged Imperial Red, and Sumatra Coffee Stout. Want to try something truly unique? Try one of their Sour/Brett Beers, made with their own house blend of yeast and lactobacillus, with inspiration from Germany, Belgium, and France.
Confluence Brewing Company

Take a tour of their brewery and learn the brewing process to how they make their well-known beers, fashioned after the hardworking people of Iowa. Brewery tours are every Friday at 6:00 and Saturday at 3:30. Stop into their bar to try any one of their popular and unique beers, like the Big Hopi Red IPA, the Virtuous Endeavor Series of Dubbel Ales, or the German Style Weiss Grip. There is a beer for every taste bud at Confluence.

Located just a short drive outside of Des Moines, the 515 Brewing Company loves to experiment with new and unique flavors including their Belgian Paradise with hints of ginger and coriander, and their grapefruit wheat beer Sweet Celebration. Other favorites include the Belgian Mistress, Reaper in the Rye, and the Lil’ Tart, among many others.
